As part of our ongoing mission to raise awareness of the art and craft of book making, the Book Maker’s Dozen will have original drawings and paintings from some of their most beloved picture books on display and for sale at powerHouse Arena.

Valentine's Day Missed Connections Party

Sophie Blackall's grown-up paintings from her Missed Connections blog will be on display for one night only at The New York Transit Museum's Valentine's Day party.
It's free, open to the public, with Poems by New York Times Metro writer Alan Feuer, Music by Left on Red and Heidi Kole and refreshments thanks to Brooklyn Brewery and 5th Avenue Chocolatiere.

Dan Yaccarino at Reading Rocks!


February 12- Bring the entire family to the 10th Annual "Reading Rocks" brunch at Ridglea Country Club, which honors children's book artist and illustrator Dan Yaccarino, perhaps best known for creating the Oswald series. BAMkids Film Festival


My book THE CURIOUS GARDEN has been turned into a Carnegie Medal winning short animated film using my original artwork. The film, and seven other films from around the world, will be screened this Saturday, February 5th at 11am at the BAMkids Film Fest in Brooklyn. I'll be there for a Q&A and a book signing.
