Dumbo Kids Holiday Party (December 5, 2010)
Join illustrators John Rocco, John Bemelmans Marciano, Dan Yaccarino, and Sophie Blackall for our 4th Annual Kids Holiday Party! This year's is sure to be more action-packed than ever, as we transform the Arena into a children's book-filled winter wonderland. There will be a very special story time, live demos from some of our favorite children's book illustrators, and a special appearance by a certain bearded North Pole resident. Our walls will be lined with signed limited edition prints from the artists who brought you Ivy and Bean, Moonshot, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Madeline, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Trucktown, Oswald, and more as part of the Book Maker's Dozen exhibition.

Collective Back Patting
Three Book Makers Dozen picture books have made it to Best Book of the Year Lists.
Brian Floca's Ballet for Martha is one of Publisher's Weekly's Best Children's Books, and Peter Brown's Children Make Terrible Pets and Sophie Blackall's Big Red Lollipop are included in The New York Times Ten Best Illustrated Children's Books of 2010. Peter is not the sort of person to point out that his book was number two while Sophie's was number six. Sophie will presume to speak for all three when she says she is pleased and honored to be on such a list. For the next 48 hours she will suspend her "no high five" rule.

You can be an author, an illustrator, an editor, an art director, a bookseller, a librarian, an agent, or anyone who has a passion for picture books.
Please send me your list with, if you want, a mini-bio, a picture of you, and a link that I can add to the post. And any comment on the books you choose. Send to sergio(at)ruzzier(dot)com
Thank you!
P.S.: this of course doesn't want to compete with Betsy Bird's amazing Top 100 Picture Book Poll.
